BALIK PULAU: A 30-year-old housewife has been ordered to stand trial at the High Court for the murder of her two sons, aged six and two.

Magistrate Noorhisham Mohd Jaafar transferred the case to the High Court yesterday after deputy public prosecutor Mohd Rehan Mohd Ariff made the requisition order.

Rosniza Ibrahim is charged with two counts of murdering her sons Muhamad Alif Hakimi, six, and Muhamad Alif Hazimi, two, by strangling them with an electric iron cord at their flat in Taman Indah, Lebuh Batu Maung 8, Bayan Lepas, on Feb 18.

Rosniza was not represented by any lawyer.

She was first charged in court on March 1, and the court sent her to the Hospital Bahagia in Tanjung Rambutan for observation.

The hospital found her fit to stand trial.
