KUALA LUMPUR: A traditional medicine practitioner pleaded guilty to two counts of raping a policeman’s underage daughter in her house.
Mohd Faizal Zakaria, 22, was accused of raping the girl in Jalan Semarak on June 26 and July 4.
The 15-year-old girl, whose mother was said to have sought treatment with the accused, had lodged a police report over the rape on July 4.
The accused, from Tumpat in Kelantan, was said to have been staying with the girl during the treatment period.
DPP Nurul Ain Hamzah objected for bail saying that the case was a statutory rape.
"If the court decides to use its discretion then the prosecution is proposing for his bail to be set at RM20,000 in one surety.
"This is because the victim knew the accused as he had been staying with her during the period," she said.
Upon hearing this, Mohd Faizal, who was arrested on July 4, said he has nothing to say on his bail.
Sessions Court judge Zamri Ibrahim denied bail and set Aug 7 for the hearing of the statement of facts and sentencing.
