MUAR: A 35-year-old administrative assistant was charged with seven counts of sexual offences plus abduction involving three underage girls, allegedly committed in a six-month period.
Jamil Jaya Said @ Ibrahim, an employee of a private higher learning institution in Kuala Lumpur, pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court here yesterday to the charges of rape, sodomy, molest and kidnap between last October and March this year.
He is accused of raping a 10-year-old girl in a hotel room here between 6pm and 8.45pm on Nov 26.
Jamil Jaya, from Jalan Salleh near here, faces a second charge of kidnapping the girl in Kampung Parit Keroma at about 6pm that day.
In a third charge, he allegedly used force on a 13-year-old girl in a car in Taman Sungai Abong Sutera at 1pm on March 26 and forcing the girl to perform oral sex on him in the car. He is alleged to have threatened to hurt or kill her if she refused.
He is also charged with raping the girl in a house at Taman Saujana in Bukit Katil, Malacca, between 3pm and 6pm the same day.
Jamil Jaya also allegedly raped another 10-year-old in a car at a plantation near Bukit Treh on Oct 21.
He is also charged with sodomising the girl in the same car in Jalan Tok Raja near Kampung Bukit Treh between 2pm and 3pm that day. The trial of Jamil Jaya, who was denied bail, was fixed for June.

- is the natural extension of Shelter Home for Children's (a registered welfare organisation which was started in 1981) mission to aid abused, abandoned or neglected children through our homes and services. As such, Shelter (Advocacy & Awareness) was started in April 2007 to be a stronger voice for children in Malaysia who have been abused or violated.
Purpose/objectives of the news tracker
Daniel Schorr of CBS News says, "All news is an exaggeration of life." But, life should not be a casual dismissal and forgetting of the many instances of abuse and violation of our children.
Shelter News Tracker is then an attempt to record and track the many reports and court cases of abuse that is reported daily in our Malaysian online newspapers. In this way, Shelter (Advocacy & Awareness) hopes to be a voice and a record for the innocents in our society.
After all, a Chinese proverb says, "Good news about someone never gets past the door, but bad news will travel a thousand leagues away."
