2007 03: Woman held over boy’s death

SUNGAI PETANI: Police have detained another woman in connection with the death of a toddler recently.
The 32-year-old housewife was picked up at her home in Taman Permai Bistari near here on Monday.
Her two sisters, aged 30 and 33, and the boy’s father, were arrested a few hours after the child was pronounced dead by doctors at the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital on Friday. The 33-year-old woman and the boy’s father, aged 32, were lovers. The three were detained at the hospital when they showed up with the body.
The father had claimed his son fell while playing the day before. On Sunday, the boy’s older sister, aged four, was hospitalised when police found bruises on her left eye and back.
