PENANG: A 16-year-old girl has allegedly been kidnapped by her biological mother.

The Form Four student left home at 8.30pm on Saturday and when she did not return after an hour, the girl’s adoptive parents went out to look for her.

George Town OCPD Asst Comm Azam Abd Hamid said that a few hours later, the girl sent an SMS to her adoptive mother telling her that she was on her way to Kuala Lumpur with her biological mother.

“She even provided the address. We then contacted our Kuala Lumpur counterpart and a team was sent to the address but no one was in the house,” he said yesterday.

“We have classified the case as kidnapping,” he added.

ACP Azam said the biological mother had given her daughter away when she was a baby due to poverty.

In another case, a Form Two student here was raped by a 16-year-old boy, whom she had just befriended.

The 14-year-old girl went out with the schoolboy for dinner at 8.30pm on Thursday. He then took her to the Batu Feringghi beachfront and forced himself on her.

ACP Azam said the victim was then sent home. Her parents noticed a change in her behaviour and managed to pry the truth from her.

“A report was lodged at the Patani Road police station on Saturday and the boy was picked up from his house in Batu Feringghi a few hours later,” he said.
