2007 05: Boys claim sodomy by voyeur

KUALA TERENGGANU: Two boys were allegedly sodomised by a man who had watched them swimming in a river at a Felda scheme in Dungun, about 110km from here.

The father of one of the victims, a nine-year-old boy, lodged a report at the Jerangau police station at 11.50pm on Sunday while the mother of the other victim, 10, made a report at the station about 30 minutes later.

Both boys had alleged that they were sodomised by the man who had watched them bathing naked in the river near a secondary jungle at Felda Jerangau on Sunday evening.

In the first report, the 35-year-old father of the younger victim said the suspect had demanded that the boys come out of the water so that he could better see them.

The second victim also claimed that the suspect had assaulted him violently.

The two boys have been sent to Dungun Hospital for a medical check-up.

State CID Chief Asst Comm Mohd Hazam Abdul Halim said the police have picked up a 29-year-old unemployed man for questioning.

He said the suspect has been remanded for a week.
