JOHOR BARU: A teenager, out on a date with her boyfriend, ended up being raped by him.
The 14-year-old told her mother about it three days after the incident and a 17-year-old boy has been detained.
The girl had followed the boy to his house at Taman Universiti at about 1am on Friday.
Once there, he raped her, she alleged.
The boy has been remanded for a week.

- is the natural extension of Shelter Home for Children's (a registered welfare organisation which was started in 1981) mission to aid abused, abandoned or neglected children through our homes and services. As such, Shelter (Advocacy & Awareness) was started in April 2007 to be a stronger voice for children in Malaysia who have been abused or violated.
Purpose/objectives of the news tracker
Daniel Schorr of CBS News says, "All news is an exaggeration of life." But, life should not be a casual dismissal and forgetting of the many instances of abuse and violation of our children.
Shelter News Tracker is then an attempt to record and track the many reports and court cases of abuse that is reported daily in our Malaysian online newspapers. In this way, Shelter (Advocacy & Awareness) hopes to be a voice and a record for the innocents in our society.
After all, a Chinese proverb says, "Good news about someone never gets past the door, but bad news will travel a thousand leagues away."
