SEREMBAN: A father watched in horror as his three-year-old son fell from the kitchen balcony of their fourth floor apartment in Taman Tasek Jaya.
P. Paniselvam, 32, rushed to the bottom of the block where he found P. Nagen still breathing.
The child, however, died on the way to the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital soon after the 6.30pm incident yesterday.
The boy’s uncle, P. Ravichandran, said Nagen had asked for a drink but minutes later Paniselvam found his son missing.
He saw the kitchen door open.
“He (Paniselvam) was shocked to see Nagen falling down,” said Ravichandran, adding that the family only moved to the apartment three months ago.

- is the natural extension of Shelter Home for Children's (a registered welfare organisation which was started in 1981) mission to aid abused, abandoned or neglected children through our homes and services. As such, Shelter (Advocacy & Awareness) was started in April 2007 to be a stronger voice for children in Malaysia who have been abused or violated.
Purpose/objectives of the news tracker
Daniel Schorr of CBS News says, "All news is an exaggeration of life." But, life should not be a casual dismissal and forgetting of the many instances of abuse and violation of our children.
Shelter News Tracker is then an attempt to record and track the many reports and court cases of abuse that is reported daily in our Malaysian online newspapers. In this way, Shelter (Advocacy & Awareness) hopes to be a voice and a record for the innocents in our society.
After all, a Chinese proverb says, "Good news about someone never gets past the door, but bad news will travel a thousand leagues away."
